Caroline A. Eisentraut

September 11, 1911 — October 21, 2008

Caroline A. Eisentraut, 97, of Kewaskum, formerly of Fredonia and West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.

She was born on September 11, 1911, in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Otto and Anna (Miller) Backhaus. She attended school in Kewaskum, was confirmed at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, and on June 4, 1932, she was united in marriage to Milton Eisentraut at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. The couple made their home in Fredonia until 1986 when they moved to an apartment in West Bend.

Caroline was employed by Amity Leather in West Bend, the Fredonia Canning Company and the River Road Cheese Factory. She was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum and enjoyed fishing, bowling, sheepshead and gardening.


She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Milton of Kewaskum
Two sisters-in-law, Jeanne Backhaus Moe of Kewaskum and Mildred Wilkens of West Bend, several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Backhaus and two sisters, Irene Stange and Harriet Martin.


Funeral services for Caroline were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive in Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning officiated and burial followed in Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
