Cecilia J. Jurgensmier Blake

Cecilia J. Jurgensmier Blake, 101, of Lomira, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.


She was born on November 21, 1910, in the town of Forest, the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Wuest) Loehr, and on October 7, 1931, she was united in marriage to Erhart Jurgensmier in Dotyville. Erhart preceded her in death on July 2, 1959. On June 8, 1971, Cecilia was united in marriage to Sherman Blake in Fond du Lac. Sherman preceded Cecilia in death on December 8, 1984.


Cecilia farmed in the area with her husbands and was employed by Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum for 21 years. She was a volunteer in crafts at Hope Health and Rehabilitation for nine years and was active in many card clubs and ceramic classes. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.


Those Cecilia leaves behind to cherish her memory include a son, Ronald (Sharon) Jurgensmier of Fond du Lac; a daughter-in-law, Karen Jurgensmier of Dotyville; a stepson, Edward (Mary Beth) Blake of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Ruth (Bob) Sherwood, Steve (Raeann) Jurgensmier, Chris (Dan) Zuraff, Matt (Margo) Jurgensmier, Pat (Kathy) Jurgensmier, Andy (Lori) Jurgensmier and Pam Jurgensmier; seven step-grandchildren, Robert (Sheila) Roehl, Jeff (Michelle) Roehl, Cheryl (Dale) Koenigs, Lori Ernst, Mike (Dana) Roehl, Jennifer Blake and Sherman Blake; ten great-grandchildren, 14 step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, four step-great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husbands and parents, Cecilia was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Jurgensmier; two sons, George and Norbert Jurgensmier; a daughter, Mary Ann Jurgensmier; three brothers, Victor, Francis and Louis (Lucille) Loehr; three sisters, Lucy (Leo) Baus, Anna (August) Kohlmann and Theresa (John) Wettstein; two daughters-in-law, Serena Jurgensmier and Gloria Billie; a step-great-granddaughter, Kellie Roehl, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Cecilia was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Father Dennis Budka and Father Mike Petrie concelebrated and burial followed Mass in St. Martin’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Ashford.

Relatives and friends called at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials to St. Martin’s Cemetery or Masses for Nativity of Mary are appreciated.


The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Cecilia’s arrangements.
