Celeste J. Jansen, nee Penoske, 80, of West Bend, passed away peacefully at her home Sat. Dec. 4, 2004 surrounded by her family.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1924 in Barton to the late Lawrence and Marie (nee Kugler) Penoske, Sr. She married Harold D. Clemens on May 25, 1943 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Harold passed away on April 15, 1964. Celeste then married Jerome G. Jansen on July 9, 1966 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome Jansen; five children, Daniel (Judy) Clemens of Arlington Heights, IL, Gary (Lory) Clemens of West Bend, Jane (George) Hess of Kohler, Alan (Linda) Jansen of West Bend, and Amy (Jim) Bender of West Bend; 13 grandchildren, John (Rebecca Evans) Clemens, Kaitlyn and Kyle Clemens, George (Sara) Hess, Alyca and Matthew Hess, Kristen, Matthew and Jill Jansen, Christopher Thompson, Stephanie Thompson, Christopher and Katie Bender; a sister, Lois (Jack) Reiland of West Bend; three sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Ervin) Van Beek, Evie Jansen and Marion Clemens; two brothers-in-law, Steve Jansen and Jim Jansen; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence (Marie) Penoske, Jr., two brothers-in-law, Wilbert Clemens and Peter Jansen; and a sister-in-law, Olive (Frank) Marbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 10 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, West Bend. Rev. Jeffrey Haines will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Sat. at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
