Charles Doll

Charles J. "Charlie" Doll, age 66, of Allenton, passed away Monday August 26, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.

He was born on April 19, 1947 in West Bend to the late Arthur and Olive (nee Wenninger) Doll. His family farmed in the Town of Addison, and Charlie attended Slinger High School, graduating in the class of 1965. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army and served with honor in Vietnam. On June 10, 1967 Charlie was united in marriage to Jean Calkins at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allenton.

Charlie was a tool maker at Maysteel Corporation in Allenton until retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Sky Ranch Flyers of West Bend. He was an avid bicycle rider, and enjoyed his motorcycling as well. Charlie enjoyed helping others and could fix almost anything. Charlie even invented and made tools to help him fix things. The real thrill of his life was taking the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. this past August.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; a daughter, Peggy (Peter) Rudolf of West Bend; two grandchildren, Jacob and Alex Rudolf; two sisters, Dorothy (Roland) Beine, and Eileen (David) Stange; three brothers, Alois (Laverne) Doll, Donald (Marilyn) Doll, and Leroy (Helen) Doll; his mother-in-law, Gloria Calkins; three sisters-in-law, Sally Doll, Betty (Stan) Ojstrsek, and Lori (Mike Barth) Schuster; three brothers-in-law, Irvin Beistle, George "Pete" (Geri) Calkins, and Randy (Patty Tackes) Calkins; other relatives and friends.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rosemary Beistle; and a brother, Gerald Doll.

Funeral services in remembrance of Charlie will be held on Tuesday Sept. 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park on Wednesday Sept. 4th at 10:30 am.

Memorials will be used to help more veterans participate in the Honor Flights to Washington, D.C.
