Charlotte I. Kalkofen, (nee Stallman), age 65, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at her residence.
She was born September 13, 1945 in Port Washington to the late Florian and Irene (nee Boldt) Stallman. Charlotte was raised on the family farm in the town of Farmington, near Fillmore. She then graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1964. On July 29, 1972 she was united in marriage to Gary Kalkofen at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Charlotte was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Fohl Martin, American Legion Post #483 in Allenton.
Charlotte worked at Regal Ware for 39 years. Everyone who worked with or knew Charlotte in any way remarked on "what a sweet lady" she was. She was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 850 and a department steward for many years. The union president referred to Charlotte as one of the most dedicated stewards they've ever had.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Gary; four brothers, John (Jean) Stallman of Mauston, Ray (Andi) Stallman of Lomira, Jim Stallman of Hartford, and Charles (Judy) Stallman of West Bend; two sisters, Betty (Tony) Mueller of Rubicon and Faye Laper of Fairwater; a sister-in-law, Betty Jean Nelson of Wittenberg, Arizona;a brother-in-law, Allen (Lucille)Seefeldt of Ocala, Florida; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Mary Jane; father and mother-in-law, Ervin and Gunda Kalkofen; sister-in-law, LaDonna Seefeldt.
Funeral service in remembrance of Charlotte will be held on Saturday, July 9th at 4:00pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St, West Bend, with Rev. Gerald Presuhn officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the time of service. Cremation will follow at Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service and inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
