Charlotte Myrtle Clarissa Legate, 81, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Lawlis Family Hospice with her family by her side.
Charlotte was born on June 11, 1942, in West Bend to the Late Arnold and Ethel (nee Opper) Schumacher. Charlotte was united in marriage to Frederick Legate on October 29, 1960. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and took care of her family, children, and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Charlotte’s memory include her husband, Frederick Legate; her three children, Tim (Emily) Legate of West Bend, Dan (Nancy) Legate of West Bend, and Tom (Kathy) Legate of Hartland; nine grandchildren, Tiffany (James) Anhalt, Austin, Sarah, Joe (Natalie), and Steven (Emily) Legate, Andrew and Alex Helman, Noah and Kayla Janke; two great-grandchild, Xander and Daniel Anhalt; sister, Caroline Reich; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte is preceded in death by her son in infancy; two brothers, Arnold “Arnie” Schumacher and Howard “Howie” Schumacher; and brother in-law, Richard “Lefty” Reich.
VISITATION: Charlotte’s family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church (7750 State Highway 144, West Bend – 53090), starting at 3:00 p.m., until 4:45 p.m.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service for Charlotte will be held following the visitation at the church at 5:00 p.m. Charlotte will be inurned at Washington County Memorial Park in a private family service.
