Our beloved wife and mom, Cheryl Giffin, passed away Saturday, November 21 at her home in Kewaskum.
She was born on April 14, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of LaVerne and Naomi Hensen. On December 19, 1970, she was united in marriage to Doug Giffin.
Cheryl loved her Harley stuff and gardening, and was known to have watched “Mamma Mia” a time or two. We’re so proud of her career as a guidance counselor at McLane Elementary in West Bend, where she touched the lives of so many children. The Boundary Waters were a special place for her, and in recent years, she enjoyed traveling to London.
We will all miss her generosity, selflessness and kindness. She was a funny lady who could also poke fun of herself.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Doug; two sons, Doug “Giff” and Todd, and two grandsons, Eric and Dustin. She also leaves behind mother, Naomi Hensen; three brothers, Steven (Wendy), Bruce (Debra) and Michael (Pauli) Hensen; a sister, Marilou Hensen; a brother-in-law, Jim Giffin and many other beloved relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, LaVerne Hensen.
A gathering will be held at the Giffin home in Kewaskum beginning at noon on Saturday, December 5 to celebrate Cheryl’s life and the memories she created with everyone who knew her.
Memorial tributes may be made in Cheryl’s name to the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association of Wisconsin, Aurora Foundation Operations, 950 N. 12th Street, Suite A511, Milwaukee, WI 53233-1306 (https://www.aurorahealthcare.org/aboutus/philanthropy/donate/index.asp?FacilityDonate=Aurora+Visiting+Nurse+Association+of+Wisconsin).
