Christina Isola Pitts,(nee Weiss), age 91, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in the town of West Bend.
She was born on February 17, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Roland and Agnes (nee Wilson) Weiss. Christina grew up in Chicago and graduated from Hubbard Junior High School in 1932. During WW II she worked for Gardiner General Hospital.
Christina was united in marriage to Harlen E. Pitts, her beloved husband of over 60 years on November 25, 1944 in Chicago. Together they became proprietors of Pitts Red Owl Agency in Land O' Lakes, Wisconsin and later of Pitts Grocery and Meats in Big Pine Key, Florida.
Christina was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eagle Chapter #248 in Eagle River, WI.
She and Harlen moved to Cedar Ridge Retirement Community in West Bend in 1994 so they could enjoy their retirement, spending more time with their daughter and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane (Gary) Seymour, West Bend; grandson, Andrew Seymour of West Bend; granddaughter, Jennifer Seymour of Eagleville, PA; brother, David (Marie) Weiss; sister-in-law, Audrey Dickman; brothers-in-law, Jack Ott and Frank (Peggy) Pitts; and many other nieces, nephews, and family friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harlen, son Bruce David Pitts, sister Jane Osborn, and brother Roland Weiss.
A memorial service will be held in Land O' Lakes when the weather warms and burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Land O' Lakes in the late spring.
