Christine M. Breit, age 56 of West Bend, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at The Kathy Hospice.
She was born on January 17, 1954 in West Bend to the late Roman and Irene (nee Wiedmeyer) Breit. Christine attended St. Mary's grade school. She earned the Girl Scout's Marion Award. Christine graduated from West Bend East High School in the class of 1972.
She worked in the office at the West Bend Company from 1971 to 1986. She went on to work for the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Enger Kress and Wicks Lumber. Christine was a member of the St. Mary's Christian Women, Association of the Miraculous Medal, Kettle Moraine Coin and Stamp Club, Washington County Association for Home & Community Education. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, crafts, gardening, bird watching, bowling and reading.
Christine is survived by her brother, Gerald Breit of Campbellsport; her sister, Judith Sweet of Olympia, WA; her sister-in-law, Carole Breit of Franklin; an uncle, Andrew Breit of Kewaskum; an aunt, Edna Breit of Lomira; nieces and nephews, Cindy (Roger) Skibinski of Oak Creek, Gary (Stacia) Breit of Charlotte, NC, Brian (Lauren) Breit of Oak Park, IL, Kerry (Gilbert Clarke) Breit of MD, Kelley (Joe) Stout of Madison, WI, Benjamin Sweet and Melissa Sweet of Cary, NC; great-nieces and nephews, Gabrielle Breit, Joshua Breit, Noah Breit, Anna Breit, Nathan Breit, Natalie Clarke, Violet Clarke, Tyler Stout, Brian (Niki) Skibinski and Kyle Skibinski; special cousin, Dorothy Dyken; special friends, Sue Schultz, Bonnie Miller, Betty Gehl, Kay Dricken, Diane Kleismith, and Toni Kugler; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roman A. Breit, her sister-in-law, Marilynn Breit; her special cousins, Agnes Fellenz and Mary Dreher-Lecher and her "soul-mate", William "Bill" Reichert.
A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Christine will be held on Friday, April 16th at 1:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church of St. Mary, 1610 Monroe Street, West Bend with Rev. Jerry Repenshek presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bob Gibson along with his staff, all the home care nurses and therapists, American Cancer Society volunteers, Interfaith Caregivers volunteers, the staff of Hope Health and Rehab. in Lomira and the Kathy Hospice in West Bend, St. Mary's Communion distributors, Dan Schroeder, and all those who prayed for Christine during her courageous battle with cancer.
