Clara M. Cook, (nee Wilger), age 95, of New Berlin, passed away Saturday August 14, 2010 at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.
She was born on June 29, 1915 in Barton to the late Nicholas and Anna (nee Kuehn) Wilger. Clara was raised in Barton and attended St. Mary's Grade School. She later worked at Amity Leather Manufacturing until her marriage to V. Helmer Cook on June 22, 1935 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish. Shortly after their marriage Helmer and Clara moved to Milwaukee.
Clara was a former member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Milwaukee and a current member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Nashotah.
She is survived by three children, Joyce (Daniel) Knippel of Elm Grove, Mary Ann (Joseph) Esser of New Berlin, and Jane Alice (Mark) O' Boyle of New Berlin; five grandchildren, Mark (Lee Ann) Knippel, Gaylene (J.D.) Townsley, Joyce Lynne (Peter) McArdle, Megan O'Boyle, and Julie O'Boyle; six great-grandchildren, Brittany and Lindsey Townsley, Daniel Joseph and Beau Knippel, Devin and Brooke McArdle; a sister-in-law, Margaret Dorn of Kewaskum; two brothers-in-law, Floyd Cook of Phelps, and Lloyd (Katie) Cook of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Helmer; six sisters, and six brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Clara will be held on Saturday August 21st at 1:00 pm at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Nashotah (120 Nashotah Rd.). Rev. Michael Strachota will be the presider. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of Mass. Burial will be Monday August 23rd at 11:30 am in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Bend.
Memorials to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church are appreciated by the family.
