Claudia Ann (Koenigs) Erickson

March 9, 1954 — December 14, 2024

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Claudia Erickson at the age of 70 years. She passed away unexpectedly at her home.

Claudia was born at St. Agnes Hospital to Francis and Elaine Strobel Koenigs. Claudia was raised in Lomira on her parents’ farm where she dedicated her time to raising barn kittens. She attended grade school at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and graduated Lomira High School in 1972. After graduation, Claudia furthered her education by attending Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with an Early Education Degree. On June 21, 1975, Claudia married the love of her life, Michael Erickson, and together they built a life with two children, Kelli and Keith. Claudia was tragically widowed on January 22, 1985, after her husband, Michael, was taken far too soon in an accident.

Claudia worked as a bank teller and customer service representative at National Exchange Bank in Brownsville. She also worked a part-time job for many years at Christopher and Banks in the former Forest Mall. Claudia retired after 31 years to full-time nanny her grandson, Deekyn, who was born in February of 2019.

Claudia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for animals and would enjoy dog sitting Marley, Minnie, Tank, and Beanzie. She also liked to spend as much time with her Grandson, Deekyn, which included trips to the local pool and watching him play sports. Claudia had a sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and hearing funny stories. She kept life simple and was a selfless person who would do her utmost for anyone in need.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her children; Kelli and her husband Derek Harmsen, Keith Erickson and his girlfriend Daniela Rodan, Grandchild Deekyn Harmsen, Sisters Deborah Smith and Kay Parker. Claudia is further survived by in-laws, nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and canine companions.

Claudia was proceeded in death by her husband, Michael Erickson; her parents Francis and Elaine Koenigs; her grandparents William and Marie Strobel; her in-laws Morris and June Erickson; Brother-in-law James Smith and other relatives and friends.

Claudia embodied the true spirit of kindness and would do anything to put a smile on others’ faces. She loved her children, grandchild, and son-in-law beyond capacity. We were blessed to have her in our lives, and she will be truly missed.
