Dale J. Sauve

February 7, 1929 — March 21, 2005

Dale J. Sauve, age 76, of West Bend, passed away Monday March 21, 2005 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.

He was born in Montreal, Canada on February 7, 1929 to the late Alcime and Elizabeth (nee Daly) Sauve. Shortly after his birth his family moved to Brooklyn NY where he attended Brooklyn Prep High School graduating in 1948. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army and served as a Staff Sgt. during the Korean War.

He married the love of his life Eugenia "Jean" Lasiewicz on April 25, 1953 at St. Ferdinand in Chicago, IL. Together they moved to Milwaukee so Dale could attend Marquette University while starting a family. He graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor degree in Engineering and began working as a sales engineer for Inland Steel in Milwaukee.

Over the years he and his family enjoyed many trips to the southwest together, which ultimately lead he and his wife to move to Santa Fe, NM after his retirement. While in Santa Fe Dale enjoyed visiting the various mission churches and museums that the area had to offer. He even was a volunteer for the Wheelwright Museum of The American Indian.

He is survived by his wife, Eugenia (Jean) Sauve of West Bend; seven children, Terri (Jim) Heironimus of Columbus, OH, Kathleen (James) Chiu of Peachtree City, GA, Valerie (Brian Klabunde) Sauve of Milwaukee, Mark (Kyrie) Sauve of Hartford, Chris (Wanda Laste) Sauve of West Bend, Michael (Vicki) Sauve of West Bend, and Nicole (John) Budiac of West Bend; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law Frances Calabrese of Schaumburg, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christopher Sauve; and a brother, Bill Sauve.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday March 24, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 am until the time of Mass.
