Dan David Diehl, age 62, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. He was born on July 15, 1961, to Donald and Arlene Diehl. He grew up in Hills Lake, Wild Rose and loved to ride his dirt bike on back roads and ski at Nordic Ski Hill. He also grew up in Oshkosh on Lake Winnebago and loved to take the boat out and fish. He graduated from Oshkosh North High School. On July 5, 1986, he married Sandra Faust at Peace Lutheran Church. They had one son, Derek, together and divorced in 2006. His greatest passions were his son, Derek, the Dallas Cowboys, his golden retriever, Emmitt, whom he named after his favorite player, Emmitt Smith, watching NASCAR’s Dale Earnhart Sr. and Jr. and The Brian Setzer Band. He passed all these great loves to Derek. He loved going up North hunting in “The Swamp” and fishing with Derek. Many great memories were made.
He is survived by his son, Derek Diehl (Ashley Ranney); two sisters, Kathy (Steve) Miller and Sheila Koehn; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Arlene Diehl and a sister, Laurie McKessy.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in August of 2024, date pending.
