David A. "Dave" Karraker

May 31, 1953 — October 3, 2024

David A. “Dave” Karraker, 71, of Newburg, found peace on October 2, 2024, at his home.

Dave Karraker, born on May 31, 1953, in Madison to Francis and Darlene (Clifton) Karraker, led a life full of adventure and service. After graduating from Cedarburg High School in 1971, he enlisted in the Marines, where he completed basic training at Camp Lejeune. His military journey took him to Puerto Rico as a military police officer and later to the USS Iwo Jima, where he served as an air traffic controller until his discharge in 1977.

Dave was an active member of the American Legion in Saukville and found joy in volunteering at the Moose Lodge. His passions included fishing, camping, and hunting. Beyond his military and community service, Dave worked as a rock band security guard, pest control specialist, and sheet metal worker, showcasing his diverse skills and interests.

Those Dave leaves behind to cherish his memory include two children, Christopher (Julie) Karraker and Michelle (Tyler) Endlich both of West Bend; four grandchildren, Jazlynn, Tyler, Hunter, and Emma; three sisters, Diane (Alan) Sigler of Brunswick, GA, Peggy Karraker of Minneapolis, MN, and Terry (Keith) Karraker of Alexandria, VA; two brothers, Scott (Suellen) Karraker of York, SC and Todd (Delores) Karraker of Idaho Falls, ID; his mother, Darlene Karraker of Scottsdale, AZ; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Francis Karraker and his brother, Thomas Paul Karraker.

VISITATION: Dave’s family will greet relatives and friends at the American Legion Post 470, 601 W. Dekora Street, in Saukville, on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

SERVICE: A celebration of life and military honors for Dave will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th at the American Legion Post in Saukville.

Memorials to Dave’s funeral expenses are appreciated by the family.
