On Friday, January 3, 2025, David “Dave” Joseph Cournia went with God surrounded in the love and comfort of his family at Froedtert Hospital.
Born on February 22, 1949, Dave was one of three sons to the late Anton and Loretta (nee Schuelke) Cournia. After high school, he honorably and proudly served our country in the US Marines as a Corporal.
Dave worked various jobs in the restaurant industry, and retired from the Milwaukee County Transit System as one of their operators.
He married the love of his life, Lana Vetter, on April 30, 2000. In addition to Lana, those who will remember Dave fondly and carry his memory forever, include five children, seven grandchildren, two brothers, and a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law.
SERVICE: Dave’s family will receive relatives and friends in a period of visitation on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m., until 11:30 a.m. The gathering will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI) in the Chapel of the Chimes. A service will follow at 11:30 a.m.
A most gracious and generous thank you is extended by the family to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the West Bend Fire Department, the staff of Froedtert Wauwatosa Hospital, and especially all the close family and friends that have uplifted them during this trying time.
Any memorials to the family would be of great appreciation.
