Debra Ann Miller (nee Damon) age 71 years, went to Heaven on Friday, May 24, 2024. She was born June 16, 1952, to Lee F. and Barbara Jane Damon (nee Simpson) in Milwaukee.
Debra was married to Richard A. “Rick” Miller Jr. on Veterans Day, November 11, 1972. Rick served in the United States Air Force. The couple made their first home in Milwaukee and then moved to West Bend in 1980 where they currently reside.
Debra is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rick; their six children, Robert (Victoria) Miller of West Bend, Barbara Lee (Donald Jr.) Janz of Oconomowoc, Michael (Kristyn) Miller of West Bend, Diana (Jason) Schellhaas of Colgate, Callie (Mike Santacroce) Miller of Campbellsport, and James “Jim” Miller of West Bend; grandchildren, Kendrick, Annabelle, Cameron, Dylan, Ashley, Adryon, Imojyn, Byonkah, Keira, and Logan; step-grandchildren, Vince, Owen, Karissa, and Melissa; and several great-grandchildren.
Granddaughter Emylia Danielle Miller, daughter of Robert, passed away at the age of two and a half years old in July 2000.
Debra is further survived by two brothers, Greg (Donna) Damon of Florida and Mark (Patti) Damon of Wisconsin; two sisters-in-law, Gale (John) Price of Virginia and Ruth (Donald) James of Wisconsin; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Debra worked at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend. She started in the housekeeping department, then central supply, unit coordinator and finally as a surgery scheduler at St. Joseph prior to her retirement.
Throughout the early years of raising her family, Debra was very involved as a Cub Scout Leader and recipient of The Bay Lakes District Award of Merit. She also was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered in various positions for the Barton Elementary School PTO.
From a young age (5 years old) Debra was in the church choir. She sang at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee, Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend, and most recently she was a member at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Since Debra’s parents passed away before Debra and Rick’s six children were born, she made it her “Life’s Mission” to be the “Best Grandma” she could be. Debra lived for the joy of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They inspired her to make every day of life a gift of everlasting love, to love unconditionally, and Debra hoped and prayed she made a lasting impact on all she had the honor and blessing to know and love.
