Delores J. Huberty, age 82, of West Bend, passed away Sunday December 9, 2012 at Serenity Villa in Slinger.
She was born August 5, 1930, in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of John and Martha (Bristor) Proeber. On January 20, 1951 she married Marvin J. Huberty and they made their home in West Bend, WI.
Delores was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of PTA, while her children were in school, working on fund raising committee's and a member of the Twins Club of West Bend. She provided in home daycare for many years. Delores worked for Shopko for 30 year as a Sales Associate, and loved helping all of her customers in the men's department. She retired from Shopko in 2002.
She enjoyed traveling with her friend Theresa, along with other friends, to Alaska, Washington, DC, Wyoming and Branson, MO. She took a whirlwind trip to attend her three eldest grandchildren's high school graduation's in 2002 traveling from West Bend to South Carolina to Minnesota then on to central Wisconsin in 7 days by car, She loved to play sheepshead, was an avid Scrabble player and loved to play board games with her children and grandchildren. Delores enjoyed visiting historical Milwaukee, dining at Mader's Restaurant and Kopp's custard stand. She attended many performances at The Fireside Theatre and enjoyed country music.
Delores is survived by her children, Karen (Greg) Christiansen of Shoreview, MN, Nancy Ogombe of Oshkosh, Merry Jo (Steve) Wing of Louisville, KY, David (Gail) Huberty of Waupaca, and Diana "Dino" Huberty of West Bend; five grandchildren, Berne and Jena Christiansen, Stephanie (Kalib) Hays, Heather and Phillip Huberty; great-grandson, Drew Hays; one sister, Shirley (Jacob) Becker; one sister-in-law, Shirley "Sis" Kirchoff; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin J. Huberty on June 12, 1981; son-in-law, Cliff Ogombe; grandson, Peter Ogombe; sister, Millie and two brothers, Richie and Jackie.
The family of Delores Huberty would like to extend a very special thank you to Horizon Homecare and Hospice, Serenity Villa, Cedar Community Home Health caregivers and special thanks to long time neighbor and friend Margie and thoughtful neighbors Brenda and Kevan and their family.
Funeral services for Delores will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 4:00pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Pastor Joe Brath will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00pm until the time of service. A private burial will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
