Dennis James Kunesh, age 65, of West Bend, died on Monday, August 18, 2014 surrounded by his family at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born November 28, 1948 in Milwaukee to the late James "Jimmy" and Lillian (nee Borger) Kunesh. As a young man, he attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and was a competitive boxer. He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War and upon returning to Wisconsin, he met his wife, Bea, and they were married on November 16, 1974 in Milwaukee. They lived in Milwaukee, Menomonee Falls, and West Bend.
Dennis worked at Briggs and Stratton in plastic-injection molding as a supervisor and plant manager. He also worked at Globe Union and JW Speaker.
Dennis was a hard-working, free spirit who enjoyed making others laugh. He loved cars, fishing, and spending time with family, especially cooking with his wife.
Dennis is survived by his deeply beloved wife, Bea; five children, Jody, Scott, Mellissa (Don), Kimberly, and Stacey; six grandchildren, Shauna, Paige, Harley, Lawrence, Sierra, Adrian; two great-grandsons, Jayden and Damien; a brother, Rick Kunesh; an uncle, Artie Borger; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service in remembrance of Dennis will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
