Dennis L. Kuehl

December 12, 1948 — July 13, 2014

Dennis L. "Gumby" Kuehl, 65, of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.

He was born on December 12, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Roger and Ruth (Hoepner) Kuehl, and on September 9, 1977, he was united in marriage to Lana Harbeck at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.

Dennis was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne, and recently retired from Dundee Sand and Gravel. He was the owner of Kuehl's Suds and Spirits in Kewaskum from 1990-2005 and had helped his son, Dusty, with a lawn service business for the past 19 years.

Dennis was a caring husband and father and always made sure his family was provided for. He will fondly be remembered for his hard work ethic and for the enjoyment he received from tinkering in his workshop and ice fishing. He cherished "trucking" with his grandsons, Riley and Hunter, and Hunter's first turkey hunt this year. He loved spending time with his family, his grandsons and his grand-dog, Bailey. Dennis kept in touch with family members multiple times a day. Those calls and Dennis will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.

Those Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Lana; three sons, Andrew (Nicole) Kuehl and Dustin Kuehl (special friend, Becky Weber) both of Kewaskum and Ross Kuehl of Fond du Lac; two grandsons, Hunter and Riley Kuehl; two brothers, Alan "Moochie"  (Cheryl) Kuehl and Mark Kuehl both of Kewaskum; a sister, JoAnn (Robert) Manthei of Kewaskum; his mother-in-law, Marcella Harbeck of Kewaskum; a sister-in-law, Sheri Baldikowski of Milwaukee; his goddaughters, Becky Dornacker Manthei, Kelly Nerat and Crystal Neubauer, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Donald Baldikowski; a sister-in-law, Carole (Henry) Timblin and his father-in-law, William Harbeck.

Funeral services for Dennis were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne. Pastor Ruth Hansen officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

The Kuehl family greeted relatives and friends at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum on Saturday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
