Dixie Lee Laufenberg, (nee Richmond), age 73, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
She was born on January 16, 1936 in Eagle River to the late DeWayne and Garnetta (nee Benson) Richmond. On February 25, 1967 she was united in marriage to Gerald Laufenberg in Waukegan, IL. Dixie worked at KMC Stamping in Port Washington.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Kim (Tom) Stuegtten; daughter-in-law, Janean; five grandchildren, Paul of West Bend, Nicole of Tampa, FL, Kristal of Saukville, Cassie and Brittney; 4 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sierra, Keyona and Nevaeh; a sister, Wonie of Minacqua; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steve; and three sisters, Kathy, Tinki and Nancy.
A memorial service in honor of Dixie be held on Thursday, April 16th at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington Street). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
