Dolores C. Kiefer, 95, of Slinger, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center in Hartford.
She was born on August 30, 1919, in Slinger, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Friess) Wagner. On June 20, 1942, she was united in marriage to Andrew Kiefer at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Andrew’s death on February 24, 1996.
Dolores was a lifelong resident of Slinger. She spent many years as a telephone switchboard operator. Dolores enjoyed playing cards with her many friends. Everyone who knew her enjoyed her excellent cooking and baking. Above all, she was devoted to her family.
Those Dolores leaves behind to cherish her memory include five children, Barbara (Dennis) Massoglia of Stevens Point, Gerald (Rosalynn) Kiefer of West Bend, Michael (Peggy) Kiefer of Whitefish Bay, Mary (Richard) Warner and Kenneth (Sharon) Kiefer both of Arlington Heights, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Mark Massoglia, Michael (Nancy) Massoglia, Rebecca Kiefer (Paul Bodis), Sarah Kiefer, Peter (Leslie) Kiefer, Chloe Kiefer, Hailey Kiefer, Bryce Kiefer, Amy Warner, Andy Warner and Jon Kiefer and six great-grandchildren, Colin, Seth, and Ana Massoglia; Aurelia and Zander Bodis; and Andrew Kiefer.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dolores was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Kiefer; a brother, LeRoy Wagner; two sisters, Lucille Abbott and Marian Purtell; a grandson, Matthew Massoglia and a granddaughter, Maddie Kiefer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dolores will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 200 East Washington Street, Slinger. Father Rick Stoffel will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
The Kiefer family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford are appreciated.
Dolores' family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Liethen and her nurse Debbie Schneider and her nurses on the 3rd floor at the Hartford Hospital.
