Donald P. Giageos

February 20, 1935 — February 2, 2014

Donald P. Giageos, 78, of West Bend, left us and found eternal peace on Sunday, February 2, 2014.

A truly honorable and happy spirit left this earth to join other loved ones. "Dad/Don/Gpa" kept his wit and humor, bragging about and surrounded by family until the end. We will forever be grateful to this man who was our guiding force, protector, mentor, teacher, goofball, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend; and above all, one of the best people we will ever be privileged to have known.

He was born on February 20, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Constantine and Marie Giageos (nee Ball). He was united in marriage to the love of his life June Dorothy Powers on February 23, 1957 in Northbrook, IL.

Don couldn't be more proud to have served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1957. Equally proud of his 40 year career, he mastered his craft that culminated as Vice President of Human Resources at Simplicity Manufacturing, Inc. He retired in 1997 thereafter enjoying retirement with June in Florida and Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife, June; four children, Danette (Stephen) Carlton of Mequon, Donna (Michael) Voss of Sanibel, FL, Douglas (Lisa) Giageos of Middleton, and Jeanine (Paul) Angeli of Sycamore, IL; five grandchildren, Samantha Voss, Matthew Carlton (fiancAC. Katie Eisenbrown), Michelle Voss, Kathryn Carlton, Andrea Voss, and another grandson due to arrive in March. He is also survived by brother, Michael (Connie) Giageos of Central City, KY; brother-in-law, Donald (Sue) Powers of Punta Gorda, FL; four nieces, Shawn Powers, Pamela Nitsch, Madeleine Lyons, and Michelle Brown; three nephews, Anthony Giageos, Michael Giageos, and Timothy Giageos; other relatives and friends; and beloved dogs, Buddy and Dinkee.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Giageos; daughter, Kathleen Giageos; sisters, June Skembare and Jacqueline MacLeod; brother, Theodore Giageos; and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Dorothy Powers.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 15, 12:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday, February 15 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Military Honors and a reception will follow the Mass.
