Donald A.W. Grandman, 90, and Della E. Grandman, 88, of Lomira, passed away at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
Donald was born on May 4, 1920, in Lomira, the son of the late Albert and Lillian (Klein) Grandman. Della was born on January 19, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Parrot) Kaufman. The couple was united in marriage on September 2, 1944, in Fond du Lac. Donald passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, and Della passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010.
Donald was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, where he served as chairman of the cemetery association, head usher, chairman of the trustees when the new church was built, chairman of the parsonage committee and chairman of committees.
During his working years, his jobs included farming until 1967, field man for Tom Ottery transit, used car salesman for Jim’s Auto and a driver for Jim’s Auto for 26 years.
Donald served on the Lomira School Board for 14 years and was school board president for ten years. He also served on the Lomira Village Board for 26 years.
Donald will fondly be remembered for the enjoyment he received from fishing, bowling, golfing and traveling.
During her lifetime, Della worked as a nurse’s aide, telephone operator, in sales at Bergers in Fond du Lac, delivered school lunches to outlaying schools in Lomira, helped with blood drives, was a farmer’s wife for 23 years and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira.
Della will fondly be remembered for the enjoyment she received from traveling, bowling and golfing. Donald and Della will be deeply missed by their family and by all who knew them.
Those Donald and Della leave behind to cherish their memory include two children, Judy (Mel) Conradt Shafel of Shiocton and Jack (Cynthia) Grandman of Centennial, Colorado; two grandchildren, Lee (Kari) Conradt of Germantown and Elizabeth Grandman of Denver, Colorado; a great-grandson, Tyler Conradt of Germantown; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Kouri of Malone, other relatives and friends.
In addition to their parents, Donald and Della were preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gene Conradt. Donald was also preceded in death by a sister, Janett Kouri; a sister-in-law, Lila Negamyer and two brothers-in-law, Walter and Virgil Kaufman.

A memorial service for Donald and Della was held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church Street in Lomira. Rev. Kerry Wilson officiated and inurnment followed in Salem Cemetery in Lomira.
Donald and Della’s family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
