Donald E. Wieselmann

Donald Earl Wieselmann, 91, of Lomira, formerly of Muskego, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2021, at Hope Nursing Home in Lomira.

Donald was born October 7, 1929, in the City of Burlington, Wisconsin, the son of the late Arthur and Mayme E. (nee Sonderman) Wieselmann. Donald was confirmed in the Christian faith at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Big Bend. Donald married the late Caroline Bertha Wieselmann (nee Bornfleth) on March 8, 1952, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. They were blessed with three children, Donna, Dennis, and Diane, and raised Caroline’s sister Dorothy’s four children, Debra, Daniel, David, and Dean, after Dorothy’s passing.

Donald graduated from Racine County Agricultural School in 1946. He went on and received a degree from UW Madison through the Farm and Industry Short Course. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Big Bend where he helped in the building of the school and served as an elected church board member for several years. He was elected as the District 6 Alderman for the City of Muskego in 1964 and served until 1968 when he was elected as Mayor and served until 1970. He was an insurance agent for Aid Association for Lutherans, now Thrivent Financial, and a Golden Pride International salesman for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing up north, watching and taping the Wisconsin Badgers football and basketball games and the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed attending the Brickyard 400 and the Indy 500 with his late wife Caroline. Donald and Caroline spent many years traveling the world for both business and pleasure.

Donald is survived by one son, Dennis (Ann) Wieselmann of West Allis; two daughters, Donna Pichotta of Michigan, and Diane (Ronald) Bauch of Theresa; six grandchildren, Nicholas Bland, Mark (Megan) Wieselmann, Elizabeth (Brad) Nennig, Gail (Andrew) Sehloff, Thomas (Jeanna) Wieselmann, and Sharon (Andrew Raudabaugh) Bauch; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Dudley Wieselmann; and special friend, Marjorie of Marshfield; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mayme Wieselmann; his wife, Caroline B. Wieselmann (nee Bornfleth); three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Wieselmann (nee Ziese), Phyllis Hoppe (nee Bornfleth), and Dorothy Olejniczak (nee Bornfleth); two brothers-in-law, Daniel Olejniczak and William Hoppe; and niece, Lynn Savic (nee Wieselmann); and other relatives.

A private memorial for both Donald and Caroline is being scheduled for a later date at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Big Bend.
