Donnie Gabor "Just Plain Ole Gramps," 56, of West Bend, passed on to eternal life, at home surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, May 21, 2005.
He was born on July 25, 1948 in Milwaukee to Edwin and Delores (nee Kujawski) Gabor. On March 5, 1988 he married Connie Ward in Germantown. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was employed at Faustel, Inc. in Germantown for more than 20 years. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a former member of the Lion's Club in Eagle.
Donnie was the loving husband of Connie; devoted dad to Cassandra (Kenneth) Krebs of West Bend, Melissa Carroll of Cheyenne, WY, and Heather Cottrell of Port Washington; and best grandpa in the whole wide world to Jennifer and Caroline Krebs. He is also survived by his father, Edwin (Mary) Gabor of Rosholt; a sister, Donna Gabor of Waubasha, MN; a son-in-law, Dennis Carroll of Iron River, MI; a sister-in-law, Lucia (Robert) Krukar of Princeton; a niece, Angela (Chris) Dickinson of Stratford; 3 nephews, Michael (Dawn) Milazzo of Tomahawk, Robert Gabor, Jr. of Hales Corners, and Joseph Gabor of Milwaukee; his brother-in-spirit, Sam Milazzo; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Gabor; his grandmother, Rose Kujawski; a brother, Robert Gabor, Sr.; and his faithful companion, Not-Me.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove at 11:00 am.
