Doreen C Unferth

Doreen C. Unferth (Wolf), 95, of Lomira, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira, with her family at her side.

Doreen was born on November 20, 1925, in Lomira, the daughter of the late John and Minnie Wolf (Jagow). On August 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Donald “Don” Unferth at Salem Evangelical Church in Lomira.  Don passed away in 2016. https://www.myrhum-patten.com/obituary/DonaldRUndo-Unfert h

Doreen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira where she sang in the choir.  She was a member of Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Auxiliary.  Doreen enjoyed baking, traveling, shuffleboard, playing cribbage with her husband, and watching her grandkids play sports. She also treasured spending time at her family cabin in Waupaca County.  In later life, Doreen and Donald spent their winters in Arizona.

Those Doreen leaves behind to cherish her memory include her seven children, Sandy (Richard) Zitlow of Brownsville, Jeffrey (Elaine) Unferth of Lomira, Tari (Eric) Bloohm of Brownsville, Rebecca (Jeffrey) Luedtke, Christine Kuen, Lorilyn (Mark) Immel, and Steve (Amy) Unferth all of Lomira; 15 grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Nicole, Paul, Anne, Kim, Ryan, Troy, Amy, Kasey, Jill, Todd, Adam, Ryan, and Owen; 27 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Brady, Quinn, Zoey, Ella, Gavin, Nora, Koby, Porter, Marley, Finley, Allyson, Rueben, Jenna, Gage, Rhea, Jackson, Grayson, Dylan, Alexandria, Tori, Sammy, Kincade, Emmitt, Reese, Harlow, and Monroe; brothers-in-law, William (Maryanne) Unferth, Frank Washatka, and Howard Schneiter; a sister-in-law, Janice Frazee; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Doreen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents-in-law, Rueben and Lena Unferth (Stettbacher); two sisters, Mabel Wolf and Laverne (Maurice) Ehrhardt; a brother, Oliver (Ruthella) Wolf, sisters-in-law, Jean Schneiter and Shirley Washatka, a brother-in-law, Donald Frazee; a son-in-law; Doug “Hugger” Kuen; and a great-granddaughter, Tessah Rebecca Todl.

A memorial service for Doreen will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira.  Rev. Roger Clapp and Rev. Mary Balson will officiate.  Private burial will take place in Salem Cemetery in Lomira after the service.

Doreen’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hope Senior Living, or St. Agnes Hospice are appreciated.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Hope Senior Living in Lomira and St. Agnes Hospice for the wonderful care provided to Doreen and her family.
