Doris "Dottie" Cifone, nee Serniuk, 95, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
She was born May 25, 1918 in Stuartburn, Manitoba, Canada to the late Nikola and Agafiya Serniuk. She adored California and lived there for many years before moving to West Bend 14 years ago to live near her daughter.
Dottie was very sociable and loved music and dancing. As a young woman, she won many dancing competitions and awards that she was quite proud of. Dancing remained a passion of hers until the day of her death. Most of all, Dottie loved all of her grandchildren very much.
She is survived by two children, Patricia Lynn (Frank "Jim") Geniese of West Bend, WI, and James "Jimmy" (Gail) McInnes of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Shelley, Jim, Greg, Sean, Lisa, Debbie, and Dennis; 12 great-grandchildren, Casey, Tyler, Sara, Felicia, James, Matthew Garret, Michael, Matthew, Alex, Kailynn, Andrew Gregory, and Alexandria; four great-great-grandchildren, Keegan, Avery, Rachel, and Andrew James; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Cifone; and a son, Brian McInnes.
Private family services will be held and Dottie will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Floyd in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City, CA.
