Doris Mae Landvatter, (nee Backus), age 78, of West Bend, passed away Saturday August 12, 2006 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born on July 28, 1928 in West Allis to the late Rueben and Clara (nee Barth) Backus. After high school Doris worked in Milwaukee, and also found time to visit relatives in West Bend, where she met Howard.
On May 14, 1949 Doris was united in marriage to Howard Landvatter at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Doris was a member of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; three daughters, Jane (Larry) Nunnenkamp of Aurora, NE, Patricia (Clayton) Batzler of Knowles, and Beth (David) Fellenz of West Bend; four grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) Dalager, Eric (Becky) Nunnenkamp, Shane Nunnenkamp, and Todd Nunnenkamp; a brother, Warren (Joan) Backus of Calumet; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James & Scott; two grandsons, Christopher & Adam Nunnenkamp; a brother and his wife, Donald and Elaine Backus.
Funeral services for Doris will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 6:30 pm at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. Rev. Robert Hein will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church only from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park on Thursday at 11:30 am.
