Doris R. Riess, (nee Baerwald), age 91, of West Bend, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
She was born on September 22, 1914 to the late Paul and Ella (nee Sperverslage) Baerwald in Hartford. Doris was united in marriage to Frederick William Riess on January 28, 1932 in Waukegan, IL. Frederick preceded her in death in January of 1977. Shortly after her marriage, Doris began a job in sales, working for J.C. Penny in Hartford until her retirement in 1962.
She was a member and past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #284 in Hartford. In 1977 she moved to West Bend and joined the West Bend Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. At that time, Doris also became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Doris is survived by her son, Jack (Patricia) Riess of West Bend; her grandchildren, Jeanine (Michael) Hautzinger of Kenosha, Joanne (Thomas) Zmuda of Dublin, OH, Jayne (Jason) Farrar of Sunbury, OH, and Jack (Laura) Riess II of West Bend; her great-grandchildren, Brennen Hautzinger, David Zmuda, Morgan Farrar, Shelby and Nathan Riess; a sister, Gladys Yeomans of Rohnert Park, CA; nieces, Betty Schneider, June Riess, and Janet Conrad, all of Hartford; nephews, Lawrence (daughter Dawn) Baerwald of Oxford, Karl (Rhonda) Baerwald of Verona, and DuWayne Petrosevac of Cyprus, CA.
She was preceded in death by a twin brother, Delmar.
Funeral services for Doris will be held on Thursday, April 6th at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of the Chimes at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield. Rev. David Schoob will officiate and entombment will follow in Wisconsin Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday at the chapel from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
