Dorothy S. Diderrich

April 11, 1916 — January 10, 2008

Dorothy Selina Diderrich (nee Bruss), Died peacefully in hospice on January 10, 2008 at the age of 91.

Born to Johannes and Selina (nee Beck) Bruss on April 11, 1916, Dorothy wed August George Kaufmann on September 5, 1936, who later died on February 21, 1940. During WWII, she proudly served on the local War Ration Board. She subsequently married Raymond Jacob Diderrich on April 7, 1945.

She devoted her energies to her family and community. A participant in the incorporation of the Village of Brown Deer, she was later an officer of the Brown Deer Civic Club, and was active in both Boy and Girl Scouts. Dorothy proudly worked for the US Postal Service.

In her later years she was a founding member of the Brown Deer Historical Society, and in retirement had a keen interest in genealogical research.

Feisty and full of life, most people who knew her were not likely to forget her. She was passionate about her family and driven by a strong work ethic.

Dorothy is survived by her children John (Marianne) Kaufmann Diderrich, Raymond John Diderrich, and Doray (Eric) Levendusky. She was further blessed with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother, John Bruss, sister, Jeannette Gundrum, and daughter, Rae Ann Meixner.

Dorothy's cremains will be placed at Graceland Cemetery, in a private family ceremony.
