Dorothy Mary Kouba, (nee Haverla), age 81, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa.
She was born on July 6, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late Julius and Stephany (nee Adamczyk) Haverla. Dorothy married George on June 19, 1948 in Chicago. George preceded Dorothy in death on January 3, 1998.
In 1971, Dorothy and George moved from Chicago to West Bend. Dorothy worked for West Bend Mutual for 15 years before retiring. Dorothy was a loving wife and mother. She loved animals, was a wonderful cook, and was known for her caring spirit. Dorothy was a strong believer in her Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church in West Bend. Her family, and community have been deeply touched by her caring spirit and will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children, Leslie (the late Harry) Poulos, Eileen (Donald) Naab, William (Judy) Kouba, and Julie (David) Meyer; her grandchildren, Diane (Ed) Cauley, Scott Poulos, Sandy Poulos, Kathryn Naab, Steven (fiancAC., Laura Meyer) Naab, Stephanie Kouba, Andy Kouba, Angie Meyer, Holly (Cameron) Johnson, Jenny Meyer, Tom Meyer, and Jeff Meyer; her dog, Molly; and many other dear relatives and close friends.
Funeral services in remembrance of Dorothy will be held on Friday, December 31st at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 2300 S. Main Street, West Bend with Pastor Bruce Dunford officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
