Mrs. Dorothy M. Moths, age 84, of the town of Scott, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2006 at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake.
She was born on October 24, 1921 in the town of Scott, the daughter of the late Herbert and Esther (Bleck) Haack, and on August 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to Melvin L. Moths at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. The couple made their home and farmed in the town of Scott for many years. Dorothy’s beloved husband of 64 years preceded her in death on December 11, 2005.
Dorothy’s family was the joy of her life. She enjoyed visiting shut-ins, gardening and watching any child who crossed her path playing with toys in the guesthouse. No one ever left without something from her garden or oven. Few plants ever died under Dorothy’s care and the flowers of her greenhouse brightened the highway intersection.
She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott and the Ladies Aid. She was a past member of the Kewaskum and Beechwood Senior Centers.
Survivors include four children, Darlene (Wil) Strack of Medford, Dale Moths of Denair, California, Melva (Martin) Stockwell of Salem and Joel (Jackie) Moths of Elkhart Lake; a sister, Ruth Fraunheim of Antigo; a sister-in-law, Lavern Junge of Random Lake; a former daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Moths of Turlock, California, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
