Douglas “Doug” L. Liepert, age 63 of West Bend, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Touchstone Living Care in Mayville.
He was born in West Bend on March 6, 1951, to Lloyd and Myrtle (nee Abel) Liepert, graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1969, and served in the Wisconsin National Guard. Doug was married to Helen Wolf and later married to Barbara Radloff.
Doug worked as a project manager for Wisconsin Bell until retiring in 1998. Doug then worked part-time at Tennies Hardware in West Bend.
He was a member of Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, the West Bend Moose Lodge # 1398, and the Wisconsin Telephone Company Pioneers. Doug enjoyed golf, country music, wood working, and fixing things.
Doug is survived by two children, Matthew (Tracy) Liepert of Wilmette, IL, and Andrea (Jeffrey) Simon of Delafield; four grandchildren, Sam Liepert, Jack Liepert, Grant Simon, and Chase Simon; his mother, Myrtle Liepert of West Bend; a sister, Susan (James) Good of Yorba Linda, CA; two brothers, Dale (Sandy) Liepert of Montello and Dennis (Tammy) Liepert of West Bend; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd; and wife, Barbara.
Funeral services in remembrance of Doug will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 1:30 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend.
Rev. Jeremy Deaner will officiate. Entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
