Dr. Florizel F. Castro, 68, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa.
He was born on February 17, 1939, in Lingayen, Philippines, the son of the late Luis and Felicisima (Fortich) Castro.
Dr. Castro began practicing at the Sison Medical Clinic in Kewaskum in 1979. Later, he was a house physician at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend until retiring in 1993. Dr. Castro was a dedicated physician, who enjoyed his work and helping his patients.
Dr. Castro was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and was an avid supporter of the Kewaskum High School Wrestling Club. He enjoyed gardening, especially raising tulips, music and his precious grandchildren.
Survivors include five children, Bob (Meg) Castro of Whitefish Bay, Vicki (Joe) Steger and Joy (Travis) Thull both of Kewaskum, Ray (Alma) Dominguez of Alamo, California and Al (Diana) Dominguez of Brown Deer; his former wife, Mary Clemens of Kewaskum; two brothers, Elizer Castro and Florente Castro both of the Philippines; three sisters, Maria Castro and Ercie DelRosorio both of California and Yong Castro of the Philippines; seven grandchildren, Hailey and Drew Dominguez, Tony and Julia Steger, Sofia Castro, Madelyn and Carson Thull, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service for Dr. Castro was held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath officiated.
The family received visitors at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
