Earl Leroy Conley, age 82, of West Bend, has passed into his eternal life on Saturday, January 9, 2010.
He was born July 17, 1927 in the township of Crandon, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Grace (Ison) Conley. Earl grew up in Forest County. After his high school graduation in 1945 he joined the Navy working as a Seabee, serving in Quam. Following the service he attended Oshkosh Business School earning a degree in accounting. Earl was united in marriage to Beulah Fuller on June 5, 1948. He later married Ruth Bodoh on October 12, 1974. Earl started his own Public Accounting Business called Conley Business Service in West Bend and years later turned the business over to his daughter Barb working together until her death in 1996. Earl retired that same year. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling, gambling and traveling.
Earl is survived by his three daughters, Debra (Mike) Steinmetz of Fond du Lac, Sandra McGrath (Gerry Kissinger) of West Bend, and Patricia Casey of West Bend; a son-in-law, Troy Hart; 8 grandchildren, Wendy (Jon) Haldemann of West Bend, Jason McGrath of Wilmington, NC, Bill (Jen) Arndt Jr. of Summerfield, NC, Heather Schumacher of Fond du Lac, Amy (Sean) Noon of Minnetonka, MN, Amanda Casey of West Bend, Rebecca Casey of West Bend, and Heidi Schumacher of Gillette, WY; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Arnold (Anita) Conley of Riverton, WY; his ex-wife, Beulah, whose friendship he has always cherished; many other relatives and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dennis; his daughter, Barbara; his grand-daughter, Jamie; two brothers, Edward and Lyle, his sister, Sylvia, two sisters-in-law, Betty and Loraine and one brother-in-law, Frank.
Funeral Services in remembrance of Earl will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 10:00 am at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 501 Walnut St., West Bend with Rev. Frank Turpin officiating. Visitation will be Friday at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Saturday at the church from 9:00am until the time of services. Burial will follow the service at Washington County Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the Samaritan Health Center, especially the caregivers who provided Earl with the best care he could have received anywhere and Cedar Community Hospice who was so supportive during our time of need.
