Edith I. Kirsch, 95, of rural Campbellsport, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira.
She was born on November 16, 1913, in Winnipeg, Canada, the daughter of the late Lewis and Olga (Wolf) Herman, and on November 16, 1935, she was united in marriage to Arthur Kirsch in Milwaukee. Her husband preceded her in death on June 3, 1971.
Edith was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She will fondly be remembered for her rug braiding, her love of flowers and gardening, her fudge, the joy she received taking care of her grandchildren and as an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan.
Survivors include her son, Edward Kirsch of Campbellsport; her former daughter-in-law, Shirley Kirsch of Campbellsport; five grandchildren, Edward Kirsch, Robert (Lisa) Kirsch, Bill (Marlene) Kirsch, Melanie Farley and Maredith (Bill) Biennan; her sister, Margaret Krohn of Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Katie, Wilson and Jack, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Farley; two sisters, Elsie Jahn and Alma Buss and two brothers, Arthur and Edward Gerpoltz.
Funeral services for Edith were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. William Wiederanders officiated and burial followed in Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Relatives and friends called on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
