Edna E. Schwartz

March 18, 1923 — December 8, 2008

Edna Schwartz, (nee Wollmann) age 85, of West Bend, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.

She was born on March 18, 1923 in Rib Lake to the late Albert & Emilia (nee Rolof) Wollmann. On June 23, 1945, Edna was united in marriage to Guy Schwartz in Fredonia. Edna loved to crotchet and sew. She donated many of her handmade blankets to charities over the years through such organizations as the Lioness Project and various nursing homes. Many family members received these special gifts for birthday and wedding presents and to welcome new members into her family. Edna was famous for her homemade chicken dumpling soup and watermelon pickles. She was an avid Nascar fan, especially that of Dale Earnhardt & Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Edna enjoyed going to rummage sales and flee markets with Guy and together they had many sales of their own. She spent much of her time reading books.

She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy (Richard) Volkert of Coloma, Janet (Dale) Nickel of West Bend, and Kathleen (Raleigh) Hodge, of Irma; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth (Don) Friske, Lynn (Todd) Stauske, Jaime (fiancAC. Andrew Harrison) Nickel, Kristy (Aaron) Hentz, Stacey (Matt Tupper) Nickel, Christopher (Tracy) Connor, and Daniel (Mary Lindquist) Connor and her children Dakota Somers, and Bailey Somers; 11 great-grandchildren, Gary Friske, Shaun Friske, Evan Friske, Paige Stauske, Ashlyn Stauske, Amelia Stauske, Hunter Connor, Hannah Connor, Haylee Connor, Damion Sontag, Piper Connor; one sister, Ruth Risse of Silver Creek; numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; her son, Donald (Uncle D) Schwartz; four brothers, and five sisters.

A Funeral Service in honor of Edna will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana St. West Bend) on Saturday, December 13th at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 11:30 am until the time of service. Rev. John Paustian will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
