Edward Cowell, age 82, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Wisconsin Heart Hospital in Wauwatosa.
He was born on May 14, 1927 in Fall River, MA to the late Edward and Mabel (nee Shepherd) Cowell. On October 4, 1952 Edward was united in marriage to Elaine Richardson at St. John's Episcopal Church in Fall River, MA.
Edward served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth. Edward and Elaine lived in Grafton for 16 years before moving to Dalton, GA where they lived for a short time. Then they moved to Venice, FL where they lived for 22 years before making Cedar Ridge in West Bend their home in 2004.
Edward retired as Vice President of Needle Craft Corp of America.
He was a member of the Fred A. Schafer VFW Post #1398 and the American Legion Lt. Ray Dickop Post #36 and a former member of the Elks and Masonic Lodge.
Edward is survived by his wife, Elaine; three children, Dana (Van-Ha) Cowell of Stockton, CA, Matthew (Betty) Cowell of Charlotte, NC and Peter (Gena) Cowell of Bakersfield, CA; five grandchildren, Evan, Andrew, Alex, Samantha and Grant; other relatives and friends.
Per Edward's request, there will be no formal funeral services. Cremation took place at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral and Cremation Service. Inurnment will be in his family's plot in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River, MA.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated by the family.
