Edward Swillinger, age 84, of the town of Trenton, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 21, 1922 in Mullens, West Virginia to the late Abraham and Viva (nee Lusk) Swillinger. Following his college graduation, Edward began a career in accounting, working for a variety of companies including Mack Trucks and Cutler Hammer.
He married Gloria Ann Aumell in Bucks County, PA on October 27, 1964. They settled in Mequon during the 1970's where Edward served on the school board and as the President of the Frank L. Weyenberg Library board. His career took him and his family to California and Oregon, but after his children settled in West Bend, Edward and Gloria moved to West Bend to be closer to their family. Edward enjoyed listening to Jazz music and simply cherished his family.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ann of West Bend; his two sons, Shawn Swillinger of West Bend and Dan E. (Diana) Swillinger of West Bend; and three grandsons, Edward, John, and Thomas Swillinger of West Bend.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry Swillinger.
A memorial service in celebration of Edward's life will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 6:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until the time of service.
