Edward B. Volm, age 74, of the town of Kewaskum, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at SynergyHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk.

He was born on July 6, 1931 in West Bend, the son of the late Bernard and Helen (Theusch) Volm, and on May 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to Adeline Matenaer at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Barton. His wife preceded him in death on August 18, 1975.

Ed was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and St. Bridget’s Catholic Chapel in the town of Wayne. He was an active member of the church and served on the church boards. Ed was a member of Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council 1964 West Bend with over 50 years of faithful service and a life member of Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Holy Hill Assembly 1677.

Ed was employed by West Bend Elevator for 25 years and was associated with Mallard Coach, Inc. for 23 years. He was a founding member of the Kewaskum Sno-Chiefs and an active member of the Kettle Moraine Sportsman’s Club.

Ed was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a good friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him.

Survivors include four children, Kristine “Kris” (Jeff “Tubby”) Boden of Kewaskum, Jeanine (Daniel) Nowak of Wautoma, Kevin (Cindy) Volm of Hartford, and Karen (Doug) Gonring of the town of Kewaskum; a brother, Francis (Dorothy) Volm of Kewaskum; eight grandchildren, Kelly (Brad) Nerat of Neenah, Jesse (Julie) Korth of Kewaskum, Jason and Ryan Nowak of Wautoma, Kailey and Kristen Volm of Hartford and Lauren and Tony Gonring of the town of Kewaskum; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Joey Nerat, other relatives and many friends. Ed was preceded in death by a sister, Alice (Alfred) Proeber.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main Street, Kewaskum. Father Mark Jones, Father Edwin Kornath and Father Elroy Pesch O.F.M. Cap. concelebrated and burial followed in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at the church on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., where a prayer vigil was held at 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends also called at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass, where a Knights of Columbus prayer service was held at 9:00 a.m.
