Elaine A. Koenig, nee Geidel, age 79, of Weston, WI, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2012, at Care Partners in Weston, WI.
She was born on October 10, 1933 in Parkston, SD to the late Fred and Alma (nee Geidel) Geidel. On October 23, 1954, Elaine was united in marriage to Douglas Koenig at St. Martin's United Church of Christ in Filmore.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Koenig; four children, Mark (Georgette "GiGi") Koenig, Lynn (Tom) Schutte, Neil (Tammy) Koenig, and Jan (Kent) Walters; daughter-in-law, Jan Koenig; 10 grandchildren, Sara, Ben, Beth, Jacob, Sam, Hannah, Katie, Emma, Krista, and Veronika; three brothers, Willard (Ruth) Geidel, Ray (Lis) Geidel, and Ronald (Sharon) Geidel; sister-in-law, Lucille Geidel; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kirk Koenig; and three brothers, Rueben Geidel, Louie Geidel and Norman Geidel; and three sisters-in-law; Patty Geidel, Virginia Geidel, and Virginia Geidel.
Funeral services in remembrance of Elaine will be held on Wednesday, December 12th at 12:00 pm (noon) at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. Joel Brandt of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau, will officiate. Burial will follow in Fillmore Union Cemetery in Farmington.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
