Elaine H. Lerch, 78, of Byron, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Harbor Haven Nursing Home in Fond du Lac.
She was born on December 23, 1933, in Oakfield, the daughter of the late Harvey and Helen (Graves) Gruenwald, and on September 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Leland Lerch at Hope Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.
Elaine was a member of Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac and the Byron Homemakers. She was employed by Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac until her retirement. Elaine taught piano lessons in her home and enjoyed bowling. She will fondly be remembered as a “cool” grandmother by her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Those Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Leland; two children, Dennis (Kim) Lerch of Phoenix, Arizona and Kathleen (Tim) Nintzel of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Peter (Holly) Nintzel, Beth Nintzel, Andrea Lerch and Dana Lerch; a great-grandson, Hunter, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Elaine were held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Church of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Rev. Robert Rosenberg officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Byron Cemetery in the town of Byron.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Elaine’s arrangements.
