Elaine A. Muentner (nee Jesse), 81, of Brownsville was called home to be with her Savior on Saturday, February 3, 2018. She was born on April 9, 1936 in the Town of Leroy, the daughter of the late Lester and Ann Jesse (nee Panzer) and was raised on their family farm overlooking the Horicon Marsh. Elaine graduated as valedictorian from Mayville High School. Elaine married the love of her life, John Muentner Sr. on June 11, 1955 at Emmanuel Church in the Town of Lomira. They farmed together for 45 years on the Muentner family farm. She was a longtime and faithful member of Ebenezer/ Trinity United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, was a member of United Methodist Woman’s Group and Adult Fellowship Group. She was also a member of Harmony Homemakers, a branch of the UW Extension Homemakers. Elaine enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on the family lawn swing. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to visit relatives and friends.
Those Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 62 years, John Sr.; children, Dawn (Dave) Seibel of Campbellsport, John Jr. of Brownsville, Faye (Wayde) Beck of Theresa, and Dan (Lori) of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Andy (Jackie) Seibel, Katie Seibel, Melissa (Corey) Sanders, Jennifer (Allen) Kiernan, Amanda (Nathan) Bodden, Bradley (Megan) Beck, Ellen (Cody) Leland, Kasey (Nicholas Wustrack) Muentner and Luke Muentner; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters–in-law, Marjory Scharf, Diane Watkins, and Carolyn Muentner. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Jesse; and brothers-in-law, John Scharf, Irving P. Muentner, and Walter Muentner.
A funeral service in remembrance of Elaine will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church St. Lomira, WI. 53048. Elaine’s Family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will take place at Ebenezer Cemetery.
