Eleanore E. Fischer, 87, of the town of Farmington, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born on July 5, 1923, in West Bend, the daughter of the late Ignatius and Erna (Jacobson) Schneider, and on September 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Howard Fischer at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown. Howard preceded Eleanore in death on June 13, 1998.
Eleanore was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Eleanore will fondly be remembered as an awesome baker who prepared special birthday treats for family members, a wide variety of delicious Christmas cookies, mouth-watering tortes and cakes. She enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles and spending time with her girlfriends, whether it was going out for lunch or going on gambling bus trips. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.
Those Eleanore leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Mary Beth Fischer of Waukesha, Michael (Patricia) Fischer of Jackson, Jayne (Tim) Duenkel of Fredonia and John (Patricia) Fischer of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Bruce and Bryan Hill, Michelle and Ben Fischer, Christopher, Matthew and Nikki Fischer, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eleanore was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence “Rip” (Dorothy) Schneider.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanore was held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 8881 Forest View Road, Kewaskum, (in St. Michaels). Father Jerome Rinzel officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Eleanore’s arrangements.
