Elmer Henry Ohrmund, age 94, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Samaritan Health Care Center in West Bend.
He was born on December 25, 1911 in Brownsville, WI to the late Albert and Lena (nee Otto) Ohrmund. Elmer was a municipal employee for the City of West Bend. He was also employed by the West Bend Canning Company for many years. When he wasn't working, Elmer enjoyed playing cards. He also enjoyed being out doors working on his garden. His greatest love in life was fishing. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Lake.
He is survived by his two sisters, Florence (William) Endres of Slinger, and Ruth (Wilbur) Redlin of West Bend. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Veronica Ohrmund of West Bend; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Oscar, Harold (Voleska), Ervin (Clara), Wilmer (Mabel), and Albert (Valda) Ohrmund; and three sisters, Esther (Andrew) Staehler, Gertrude (Lawrence) Minch, and Viola (Delmar) Derge.
Funeral Services in honor of Elmer will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 7:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Rev. Paul Reede will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, from 5:00 pm until the time of service.
Memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Lake, or to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Slinger would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Reede for his comforting visits and prayers with Elmer, and to the staff at the Samaritan Health Care Center for the compassion and loving care given to their brother.
