Elmer A. Schultz, age 94, of West Bend, passed away Monday May 26, 2014 at the Kathy Hospice in the Town of Polk.
He was born on January 6, 1920 in the Town of Scott, Sheboygan County, to the late Henry and Helena (nee Ebert) Schultz and was united in marriage to Beverly Fischer-Flasch on October 27, 1978 at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Elmer worked as a production supervisor at the West Bend Company.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and the West Bend Company 25 year club. Elmer enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and woodworking, building items such as grandfather clocks, tables, hutches, and other items.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; a daughter, Cindy Backhaus of North East, MD; son-in-law, Herbert Buettner of West Bend; four grandchildren; Paul (Jill) Buettner, Dawn (Pat) Wieberhauser, Joe (Becky) Backhaus, and Jessie Daniel Backhaus; four great grandchildren, Amber Wieberhauser, Jonathan Buettner, Julia Buettner, and Cassidy Backhaus; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Buettner; two sisters and their husbands, Lawritta & Albert Laverenz, and Edna & George Glander; two brothers and their wives, Rueben & Sylvia Schultz, and Karl & Evelyn Schultz; and a son-in-law Howard Backhaus.
Funeral services in remembrance of Elmer will be held on Thursday May 29th at 2:00 pm at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (1044 Silverbrook Dr.) West Bend. Rev. Darrin Wiebe will officiate. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
