Elmer R. "Butch" Giese, 68, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born on November 7, 1944, in the town of Auburn, the son of the late Otto and Alice (Zimmerman) Giese, and on November 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Margaret "Marge" Kaehne at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport.
Elmer was employed by Regal Ware Inc. in Kewaskum for 46 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, the New Fane Sportsman's Club and the Kewaskum Sportsman's Club.
Elmer was an avid hunter, especially of deer, pheasants and turkeys. Many good times were enjoyed with his hunting buddies at the "shack" in the Richland Center area. Elmer loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Elmer leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Marge; three daughters, Cynthia (David) Flasch of the town of Auburn, Janice (David) Kornfehl of Lomira and Julie (Justin) Jansen of North Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Mike) Wettstein, Brenda Flasch (Roland Kessen), Tracey Flasch, Kyle Flasch (fiancee, Karlee Kaehler), Richard Giese, Bryan Kornfehl (Hailey Burdick), Mackenna Jansen and additional grandchild due in March; four great-grandchildren, Jordy Wettstein, Isaac and Hailey Kessen and Joshua Flasch; three brothers-in-law, Bob (Arlene) Kaehne of West Bend, Bern (Linda) Kaehne and Lloyd (Marian) Herriges both of Kewaskum; two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Art) Troedel of Kewaskum and Delores "Floss" Kahut of Campbellsport, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his grandparents and parents, Elmer was preceded in death by an infant brother, Otto Jr.; a brother, Walter (Betty Ann) Giese; a sister, Mary Ann (Benno) Miller; a granddaughter, Grace; two sisters-in-law, Diane Herriges and Beatrice (Lyle) Manthei and two brothers-in-law, Norman Kaehne and Art Kahut.
Funeral services for Elmer were held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Thomas Behnke officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery in Kewaskum.
The Giese family greeted relatives and friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
