In addition to her husband and parents, Elva was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver and Harold Kirschmann and two sisters, Erna Rettmann and Mabel Mertzdorf; a grandson, Matthew Strack; and a great-grandson, Grant Haas.

Funeral services for Elva were held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Batavia. Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
