Elvira O. Schaub, (nee Abel), age 90, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Cedar Community in West Bend.
She was born on February 22, 1919 in the town of Barton to the late Edwin and Olinda (nee Kibbel) Abel. On October 25, 1941, Elvira married Victor Biersack at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Victor preceded her in death on January 3, 1969. She worked at Amity and later at B.C. Ziegler until she retired in 1973. On April 26, 1975, Elvira married Ludwig Schaub at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. He also preceded her in death on June 12, 1987. She was a life member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, and a member of St. John's Ladies Aid. Elvira loved card clubs and especially enjoyed playing sheepshead.
She is survived by her three children, Jean (Gary) Markgraf of Kennedale, TX, Joyce Corbett of West Bend, and Karen (Tom) Miller of West Bend; six grandsons, Jeff (Michelle) Markgraf, Jason Markgraf, Shawn (Ann Marie) Corbett, Jonathan (Jill) Corbett, Troy (Elizabeth) Miller, and Brandon (fiancAC.e Leah Nienow) Miller; six great-grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Kelsey and Clara Beth Corbett, Dayton Miller and Piper Markgraf; other relatives and many friends.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Victor and Ludwig: son-in-law, Jeff Corbett and sister, Laverna Proeber.
Funeral services in remembrance of Elvira will be held on Monday, September 21st at 2:30 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Ave) West Bend with Rev. George Mumm officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 12:30 pm until the time of services. Burial will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
