Emma Eileen Phelan

January 7, 1928 — January 21, 2010

Eileen Phelan, (nee Witham), age 82, of West Bend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Kathy Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Eileen was born on January 7th, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mary (nee Hale) Witham. Eileen was united in marriage to Donald Phelan on October 10, 1947 in Murlin Heights, Ohio. Eileen attended Miami University (Ohio) and Parker Vocational School in Dayton, Ohio and worked as an Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant for Aeroproduct, PSIA-C and other associations.

Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Donald; her five children, John (Deb) Phelan of West Bend, Leigh Anne (Roman) Lichon of West Bend, Susan (Michael) Doll of Cedarburg, Jody (Terry) Elston of Layton, Utah, and Jennifer (Terry) Benz of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Julie (Andrew) Schumacher, Jamie, Jason, Jena, Justin, Joshua, and Andrea Jordan; a great-grandson, Jaiden Fox; her sister, Gail Loughry of Rifle, Colorado. Eileen is further survived by many other close relatives and dear friends in her Bible Study, Home Maker's and Red Hat groups.

Eileen loved serving others, especially her grandchildren, was full of hospitality and giving. Throughout the course of her life, she enjoyed reading her bible, baking, golfing, skiing, biking, gardening, walking and traveling. She lived every day to the fullest thinking of others and cherishing her large family and close friends.

A memorial service in honor of Eileen will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Northbrook Church, 4014 Hwy 167 W. Richfield, WI. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The church service will begin at 6:00 pm; a reception will follow the service. Cremation took place at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service of West Bend.

Very special heart felt thanks to the tireless, understanding, compassionate nurses in the St. Joseph's Hospital ICU unit and Kathy Hospice. Memorials to the Kathy Hospice, Eileen's final resting place, will be greatly appreciated by the family.
